Hello! I am the founder of TakePikChua. This is me exploring life with my camera. I photograph weddings because I believe in stories- lived and felt. Even after photographing & videographing countless weddings, I still find myself tearing up during vows, quiet glances, and the in-between moments that words can’t fully hold. Even more so after getting married myself, I’ve come to deeply appreciate what it truly takes for two people to arrive at this milestone- the ups, the compromises, the growth, and the choice to keep choosing one another. The promise and commitment made on a wedding day is something I hold sacred, and it is an honour to be entrusted with preserving it. Before becoming a wedding photographer, I worked as a storyteller in a different medium. I made TV episodic content for international platforms such as Disney and Netflix as a storyboard artist. Storyboarding sits at the very front of the production pipeline, where framing, visual flow, emotion, and intention must be clearly defined before anything else exists. Prior to that, I graduated from NTU’s School of Art, Design and Media.​ That foundation shapes the way I photograph today. In a time where anyone with a camera can call themselves a photographer, I take pride in a trained eye- in intentional framing, the use of lines, shapes and light, and the way backgrounds and secondary elements quietly support the story within the frame. Every image is composed with care, and even more so on a day that carries such weight and meaning. What I’m drawn to most are the honest moments- the laughter that isn’t perfect, the tears that aren’t staged, the subtle interactions that reveal how deeply people are connected. What matters is preserving how it felt. Because at the end of it all, photography isn’t just about how your wedding looked. It’s about remembering the people, the relationships, and the experience of being there- fully, wholeheartedly, and in love.
